I've always loved to draw. Unfortunately my school considered art a 'second class subject', and support and tuition were non existent. I drew and painted as a hobby (mostly in hiding) for many years, teaching myself from art books and then, thankfully, the internet came along! There have been several stops and starts, due to confidence issues, but I started drawing seriously again a few years ago.
This blog is where I'm going to share and record my sketching journey, the ups and the downs! I love drawing nature and that's where I'm comfortable, but I want to keep pushing my boundaries!
In 2013 I started keeping an Artist's Journal, inspired by Cathy Johnson's' wonderful Artist's Journal Workshop book and Blog; and then, in 2014, I became an Urban Sketcher. I'm now joint leader of the Urban Sketchers Bristol and South West Chapter (UK)
